Our wonderful a la carte restaurant strikes the perfect balance between a formal and relaxed atmosphere and, even with a recent refurbishment, the décor remains classic, modern and tasteful, with a few opulent touches thrown in.
Head Chef, Stewart Robson, has revamped the menu to add his own mouth-watering stamp on to the a la carte offerings.
Along with Restaurant Manager, Yves-Marie Jestin, he has initiated something of a change of identity for the restaurant. The new menu continues to demonstrate an unpretentious, honest approach, with dishes show-casing the best West Country suppliers and presented in mouth-watering fashion. They are homely, but with a nouvelle cuisine flair and all are the perfect showcase for the amazing array of produce from our local suppliers, such as M.C. Kelly and Darts Farm, some of the finest purveyors of meat in the region. The food is predominantly British, and Stuart sources more than 50% of his ingredients within a 50-mile radius and local produce features in almost every dish.
Service is delightfully attentive and friendly, without intruding on your dining experience, which has been further enhanced by recent refurbishment works. The Restaurant team, spearheaded by Yves, are well-versed in the make-up of every dish and are always on hand to offer advice and guidance to any guest. There’s a comprehensive wine list with something for everyone, from organic and Fairtrade wines, to a selection of Devon and Cornwall’s finest, as well as both new world and old classics, plus Yves is always keen to show-off his extensive knowledge of the perfect wine to accompany any dish!
Whilst menus may constantly change with the seasons and availability of the ingredients available locally, the aim is always to tantalise the taste-buds. The current menu will leave any diner spoilt for choice, with vegetarian, fish and meat dishes available across our starters and main courses. With everything from Salmon Gravalax and Braised Lamb Shank Tortellini to start, to Cornish Sole and Saddle of Venison with Poached Pear for mains, your palate will be dazzled, whatever your taste!
Aside from all this, there is, of course, Woodbury Park’s breathtaking location. Lunchtime caters for conference delegate package lunches, except on a Sunday when we serve a traditional carvery from 12:30 to 2:30pm.
